The Complete Guide to Classic Datsun Cars and Trucks

1970 Nissan Cedric 130 Mark V
.
.

The last version of the 130 series went into production in October 1969 and went on sale early 1970. Cosmetically there were very few alterations made from the Mark 4 model. The Super Six and Special Six models got a new grille, with a wide horizontal bar at the top and the bottom, and 8 thin horizontal bars inbetween. All the other grilles stayed unchanged, as did the tail lights and bumbers. The upper spec cars all got new more ornate hubcaps.
The big changes for the Mark 5 were all under the bonnet. The Special Six, Super Six and Personal deLuxe 2400 were now fitted with the new 2393cc 130hp OHC L24 engine. Also the pushrod 2 litre 6 cylinder J20 engine was dropped and replaced with the L20 1998cc OHC 6 cylinder engine. The 1983cc 99hp OHV 4cylinder H20 engine continued as an optional base model engine, and the SD22 4cyl. 2164cc 70hp diesel engine was also available.
The Personal Six model is now known as the Personal deLuxe. The badges on the sides of the car say either Cedric, Datsun 2000 or Datsun 2400 in chrome, and next to them in gold either Special Six, Super Six, or Personal deLuxe, depending on the model. On the boot lid in the middle there is a large rectangular badge that says either Cedric, Cedric 2400, Datsun, Datsun 2000 or Datsun 2400. To the right of this, above the tail light, there will be a gold badge that says either Special Six, Super Six, or Personal deLuxe.
Production of the 130 series ended in January 1971, and the 130 was replaced by the all new 230 series.
