ask a question, or tell us about your Early Datsun

Please feel free to drop us a line and say hi, or to ask for any advice. We love hearing from other Early Datsun people. But there are a few things to keep in mind before sending a message -

1/ We are only passionate about, and only have technical knowledge about, pre-1968 Datsun, Nissan and Prince vehicles. We have a only a passing interest in the later model Nissan and Datsun products. I'm sure that cars like the 510 and Z series are great cars as well, it's just that we don't get as excited about them. There are lots of other websites out there that can offer better advice, and a more sympathetic ear, on later cars than us.

2/ We do have an active interest in some other Early Japanese cars other than Datsuns. If you own anything interesting like a Daihatsu Compagno or a Hino Contessa we would love to hear from you too.

3/ We don't give valuations or opinions on the resale values of any vehicles. The simple answer is that Early Datsuns are priceless!

4/ We can't and won't help you sell your car. Early Datsun owners are part of an elite and unique group, and we are happy to help people to keep their Classic Datsuns on the road. If you are going to sell your Early Datsun that means that you are surrendering you unique status and are going to become one of the boring and common people. We don't like boring and common people. ;-) We help people to keep their Classic Datsuns, not get rid of them.

5/ We can't and won't help you find an Early Datsun to buy. We are very impressed that you would want to buy a Classic Datsun, and would love to hear all about it and see a photo of it when you do buy one. But we don't have any magical way of locating Early Datsuns for sale. We recommend keeping an eye on eBay or OzDat, or magazines and newspapers like Unique Cars, Just Cars and the Trading Post, or whatever your local equivalent is.

6/ We are in AUSTRALIA ! There seems to be some assumption (mainly from Americans) that if you own a website you must be American. Well we're not American, we are in AUSTRALIA. We are happy to help Early Datsun people anywhere in the world, just keep in mind we are in AUSTRALIA.

7/ When you write to us please let us know where you are, and what sort of Early Datsun you have. We get lots of emails that say things like "Do you know where I can get parts for my Datsun".  If I don't know where you are, or exactly what model you need help with I can't help. And please be as specific as you can, I have had several people over the years tell me they are in WA, being Australian I naturally assume they are in Western Australia, only after several confused emails I find that they are actually in Washington. Telling me you have a Bluebird doesn't help much either, especially when you consider they built Bluebirds from 1960 right through until the 21st century. Let me know the model code, or year of the vehicle, or if you don't know either of these then give me a description so I have something to go on.

8/ I get lots of mail, and sometimes it takes a while to get around to reading and replying to all the messages. I have been known to occasionally loose an email as well, so if you don't hear back from me after a couple of weeks it might be an idea to write again.

9/ Would we like to see a photo of your Early Datsun ? Yes, definately ! Please feel free to attach a photo of your car.
Would we also like to see a photo of your Ford Falcon ? No.
