![]() The grille designs remain unchanged. The grille on the Wagon has one wide horizontal bar in the middle that goes under the headlight clusters, it has 6 thin horizontal bars above it and 3 thin bars below. The Van has one wide horizontal bar in the middle that goes between the headlight cluster, but does not go all the way under them like the Wagon grille. The Van has 5 thin horizontal bars above the wide middle bar, and 3 below it. The front bumpers now have over riders with rubber blocks on them. The rest of the car remained mostly unchanged. There were also some changes
made to the engines at this time. The threads used on both engines went
from imperial to metric. Also the crankshaft on the H20 went from being
a 3 bearing crank to a 5 bearing crank.

![]() The rear has also been substantially altered and now featured a tailgate that is hinged at the top on the roof, and now opens upwards. The tailgate window is now fixed in place and doesn't open, but it now has a rather unusual new feature. The left side rear window on the Mark 4 is an opening window and is electrically operated by a switch on the dashboard or by a key operated switch on the side of the car. If you look at the main photo you can see the key operated switch at the back of the car at the same height as the door handles. The interior now has a black plastic 'safety' dashboard and a different upholstery design. The Wagon version, the WP130, continues to be an 8 seater, with a rear facing fold-down back seat. The Wagon grille has a series of horizontal rectangles that are stacked 4 high and 5 across. The Van is a 6 seater. It's grille is the same as the Standard sedan, and has 49 vertical bars. The Van has 2 horizontal bars inside the back side windows. On the Wagon the side badges say Datsun 2000 Wagon Six or Cedric Wagon Six. ![]() The biggest change was to the engines. The J20 pushrod 6 cylinder engine was dropped and the 1970 model Wagon and Van were now all fitted with the 2 litre OHC L20 (L20A) engines. Some of the sedan versions used the new L24 2.4 litre engine as the top of the line engine for the range, but these were never available in the Wagons and Vans. For the Wagons and Vans very little changed cosmetically from the Mark 4 design. They all continued to use the same grilles and tail lights. The only changes being minor things such as door latch mechanisms. For 1970 the Van is now called the Cedric Van deLuxe instead of just Cedric Van. On the Wagon the side badges say Datsun 2000 Wagon Six or Cedric Wagon Six. On the tailgate the centre badge on the trim between the tail lights says either Datsun or Cedric, and the badge on the right, above the tail light, says Wagon Six. The grille badge has a Cedric Star emblem with a wreath below it. On the Van the side badges say Datsun 2000 deLuxe Six or Cedric deLuxe Six. On the tailgate the centre badge on the trim between the tail lights says either Datsun or Cedric, and the badge on the right, above the tail light, says deLuxe Six. The grille badge has a Cedric Star emblem with Nissan printed above it. The last of the 130 Wagons rolled
off the production line in January 1971. The continued to be sold well
into the last part of 1971. It was replaced by the 230 series Cedric, which
went on sale late in 1971.
